Serviços em cloud na ótica de utilização empresarial

O conceito de Cloud Computing tem sido amplamente discutido sendo uma vertente desta abordagem a redução dos custos. São diversos os prestadores de serviços de Cloud existentes no mercado e diversificados os modelos de serviços que estes disponibilizam através da internet. É objetivo deste artigo apresentar uma breve caracterização do estado da arte no que se refere a esta temática bem como suportar o seu conteúdo num estudo efetuado numa Organização de média dimensão. Foram abordadas duas perspectivas nesse estudo: utilização de serviços de gestão e arquivo do correio eletrónico em infraestrutura do fornecedor (Public Cloud), e virtualização de ambiente de trabalho desktop, em servidores de data-center interno (Private Cloud). Foi possível concluir que cada fornecedor adequa os modelos de negócio à sua especialidade, originando um mercado heterogéneo e de difícil análise comparativa dos serviços disponibilizados. Considera-se que será premente a conceção de protótipos que avaliem em contexto organizacional a viabilidade das soluções a implementar.The concept of Cloud Computing has been discussed largely by cost reduction. There are several Cloud providers in the market with diversified models of services accessed over the internet. The purpose of this paper is to present the state of the art with regard to this issue and frame a study conducted in a medium-sized organization. Two perspectives were addressed in this study: use of electronic mail management services in the provider's infrastructure (Public Cloud), and desktop virtualization desktop in internal datacenter (Private Cloud). It was concluded that vendors are making the business models according to their specialty, resulting in a very heterogeneous market and a difficult benchmarking analysis of the services offered, pointing to the need for prototyping tested in the field to assess the feasibility of the solutions

Portuguese invoicing description: underthe perspective of invoicing software certification

Recentemente, a indústria de desenvolvimento de programas informáticos de faturação foi incentivada a incluir novas valências veiculadas por alterações legislativas fiscais. Neste sentido, foi efetuado o enquadramento fiscal, a caracterização das empresas e da faturação em Portugal, por meio de programa informático de faturação certificado. O valor acrescentado, centrou-se na análise das condicionantes implícitas ao processo de certificação, pela Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira, no sentido de otimizar a perceção que as organizações têm deste processo. Considera-se assim, que estão criadas condições que potenciam a otimização do processo de certificação, no sentido de contribuir para o aumento do número de programas certificados.Recently, the invoicingsoftware development industry has been challenged to include new requirementsconveyed by tax legislative changes. Towards green IT: assessing the environmental impact of public administration

The Public Administration (PA) in Portugal is impacted by the constant acceleration and evolution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), where the Portuguese State, transposing European Union directives, has legislated and encouraged their use as instruments of added value for the PA. Establishing rigorous and sustainable governance is crucial, ensuring that the organization’s strategic objectives are aligned with ICT and, preferably, with Green IT practices. In this context, it is necessary to be able to estimate and subsequently evaluate the impact of strategic and operational choices on improving environmental quality. For such, this article presents a framework developed to optimize ICT management practices and indicators that, in this environmental area, support the forecasting and assessment of the impact of the choices made in the search for technologically advanced solutions in the Barreiro municipality. These choices enable, among other things, a reduction in energy consumption, implying a reduction in financial costs, resulting in environmental benefits, such as a reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere or less deforestation. Society 5.0 and Information and Communication Technologies as a Driving Factor for The Improvement of Family Time

Otimização de Práticas de Segurança da Informação: Utilização do Balanced Scorecard Designer

A sociedade da informação e do conhecimento, suscita às organizações a realização de uma prática de gestão estratégica contínua como forma de criar valor para os stakeholders, que pode ser facilitada pela utilização das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) e dos Sistemas de Informação (SI). As TIC não podem ser apontadas como a resolução para todos os problemas, mas podem contribuir claramente para potenciar a melhoria do desempenho organizacional. Na perspetiva interna da organização, a medição da performance consiste em criar processos que ajudem à tomada de decisão com base em factos. Com base na missão, e na descrição dos seus principais processos, na estratégia definida para a organização, e na norma ISO/IEC 27002:2005, foi iniciado um estudo para identificar problemas no domínio da segurança da informação na Mesio Serviços, Lda. Baseado na norma ISO/IEC 27004:2009 foi possível definir um conjunto de métricas que se consideraram relevantes para o estudo. Com recurso à metodologia de avaliação do desempenho Balanced Scorecard, foi criada a perspetiva de trabalho para a Segurança da Informação, e consequentemente os processos e os indicadores a aplicar e monitorizar, bem como as metas pretendidas com o trabalho de avaliação. A transposição do plano para a ferramenta de avaliação e medição da performance Balanced Scorecard Designer (BSC Designer), permitiu a avaliação em tempo real dos indicadores e das metas estipuladas para a otimização das políticas de segurança na organização, tornandose preponderante no acompanhamento e evolução do desempenho dos controlos pela monitorização, facto que possibilita a correção dos desvios em relação ao previsto de forma a atingir as metas e os objetivos definidos.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Sustainability in Software Engineering: A Design Science Research Approach

In the current global context, with so many challenges to be faced, it is important to see people’s increased interest in sustainability issues as an opportunity for change. Sustainable Software Engineering, as a recent research area, incorporates sustainability principles and dimensions in the software development process. On the other hand, the Design Science Research methodology has become a well-received research paradigm in Information Systems in general and in Software Engineering in particular. The paper presents a Sustainable Software Engineering approach integrated into the Design Science Research methodology. The concepts of sustainability in software development, namely the principles of the Karlskrona Manifesto, the principles of Green Software Engineering and the Sustainable Development Goals are integrated into the approach. Preliminary results from applying the approach indicate that the iterative process of the Design Science Research methodology allows for the integration of multidisciplinary sustainability artefacts during the software process

Diabetes Tracker and Volunteer+ Software Engineering for Sustainability

In a world where sustainability is increasingly important, we must look for ways to promote it; the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) fulfill this function. In software engineering, one of the main challenges for the success of a software solution is to achieve sustainability. This chapter introduces the development of two mobile applications on Android: Diabetes Tracker and Volunteer+ that are inspired by the SDGs, incorporating the principles and dimensions of the Karlskrona Manifesto in relation to the software development phases. In this investigation, a customized adaptation of the Scrum agile methodology was used, with a concern to promote software engineering for sustainability. To achieve this end, an iterative approach is used, allowing the principles of the manifesto to be crossed to emphasize the various dimensions of sustainability. The main results can be seen in the applications developed, specifically to facilitate the control of the diabetes disease and promote quality health, as well as enhance the participation of citizens by promoting volunteering

One of the central conundrums is sustainability in software. The possibility of using known creativity techniques while introducing the dimensions of sustainability to help provide unexpected, original, practical, and sustainable answers in software development is challenging and motivating. This paper proposes an approach, CRESustain, incorporating sustainability dimensions when introducing creativity techniques in the Requirements Engineering process. CRESustain uses various creativity techniques considered appropriate for the different stages of the RE process. It is inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals, creative problem-solving methods, and the Karlskrona Manifesto. The methodology applied to give materiality to the outcome of this work was Design Science Research, a research paradigm that uses knowledge to solve problems, generate new knowledge and insights, and results in an artefact.
